When it comes to executive management we serve in short term or long term capacities as the CEO or COO.
Gem City provides outsourced executive management services to support the complete needs of small to mid-sized companies. Our team serves within the various roles of outsourced Chief Executive Officer or Chief Operating Officer, depending upon what is needed.
Many companies struggle to support the payroll of full-time resources as required to meet their executive management needs and this is where an outsourced professional is often used. Also, when Gem City assumes a particular role in support of a client, the client receives the experience of the firm resources in support of this role. It’s similar to comparing the abilities of one person in a particular role to having one person that is supported by the various levels within our firm to provide the same services. The result is more experience overall.
How effective an organization is depends on the management of the manufacturing, distribution and operational functions. This often times speaks to the health and value of the Company.
Gem City has a wealth of experience within different industries related to both serving in various management roles and advising on evaluation and optimization of existing processes and controls. There is no one- size- fits-all- solution that is portable from one company to another. When assessing the different aspects of the people, processes and technology involved within the key operating functions of a client it is useful to merge prior experience, as well as best practices, in the formation of the best end to end processes. We approach these engagements in a way that prioritizes our focus on those areas that provide the most value first.
Two of the most difficult tasks business owners face sometimes involve either Organizational Design or Change Management.
Gem City works with both new and established companies in the design of optimal structures and with implementing change management when it is needed. Both can be difficult depending upon individual situations but we’ve found it to be extremely effective when outside experience works closely with internal management to address a common goal. Our team possesses operational knowledge from past and current experiences from performing various operating roles with the clients we serve. We find this knowledge is very portable when sitting across the table from an individual performing a similar or exact role that we have served in previously.
Change is difficult. We have experienced it ourselves and are well suited to assist you in making the changes needed to optimize your business.
Continual Improvements to People, Processes and Technology are essential to optimize an organization.
Gem City has received the benefit of both best practice training, as well as real world experience. We approach the assessment of an organization as if were part of the internal team and attempt to walk in the shoes of the employed staff we are engaged to work with. People, Processes and Technology are not meant to remain the same for a high growth business and organizations that adopt a culture of Continuous Improvement often are the most successful – as defined as “where people want to work”, “the processes support the people versus the people supporting the processes”, “technology is state of the art allowing for efficiencies and savings”, etc.
Assuring the right technology is deployed for the operating system to support the company’s needs represents a critical decision.
The Gem City team has experience in all aspects of acquiring a new system, whether it be a comprehensive Enterprise Resource Planning system to simply an accounting package for smaller needs. The primary functions of assuring the right system is acquired involves an internal assessment of the need and the drafting of the system design and requirements to meet the needs. This is followed by a procurement process that can be simple to relatively complex with developing a Request For a Proposal and then is followed by assuring the system is successfully implemented with being integrated with the processes of the Company.
